Fertility Specialist

Dr Abri is the founder of Genesis Reproductive Centre, established 21 years ago. He is the chairman of the board.

He is a registered Reproductive Medicine Specialist and runs a multidisciplinary centre of excellence for advanced endoscopy (laparoscopy and hysteroscopy) with a special interest in deep infiltrating endometriosis and fertility-related surgical procedures.

He trains fellow gynaecologists and holds a part-time post at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, running the office hysteroscopy clinic.

He is a lifetime board member of the International Society of Gynaecology Endoscopy. He has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and is an invited international speaker, performing live surgery both locally and internationally, having done live surgeries on three continents.

Dr Tebogo Deo

Fertility Specialist

Dr Deo holds a Sub-Specialty Certificate in Reproductive Medicine from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa in conjunction with the University of Cape Town (2017). Having qualified as a Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the University of Cape Town through Groote Schuur Hospital, she received a Golden Speculum Award for best research in Gynaecology in 2006. She obtained her MBChB from MEDUNSA (now known as SMU) with distinction in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and The Mokgokong Award for Best Student in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1997. This was preceded by a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology & Biochemistry from Rhodes University in 1992. She holds other professional qualifications in Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Surgery from the World Laparoscopy Hospital in India and a Postgraduate Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine from the University of Warwick, UK. She also completed training in Medical Mediation with Mediation in Motion Academy & the University of Cape Town. She is characterised by a compassionate approach to patient care, specialising in helping individuals and couples navigate the complexities of fertility through a holistic approach, with cutting-edge treatments and personalised care. Her deep knowledge and extensive experience spanning over 20 years helps her patients turn the dream of parenthood into reality.

Dr Dries Potgieter

Fertility Specialist

  Dr Dries Potgieter began his career as a Registered Nurse after completing his studies at RAU in 1997. However, he soon realised his passion for medicine and pursued his dream of becoming a doctor. He obtained his MBBCH degree from WITS in 2005. After completing his required public service years, he decided to specialise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He received his qualifications as a Specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in 2013 and also holds a Certificate in Minimal Invasive Gynaecological Surgery. He furthered his studies and earned a Master’s Degree in The Biotechnology of Human Assisted Reproduction and Embryology. He recently qualified as a Reproductive Medicine Specialist in 2023. Dr Potgieter practises at Mediclinic Kloof in Pretoria, where he focuses on female fertility, endometriosis, and endoscopic surgery.  

Mr Neville Moodley

Lab Director/Clinical Embryologist

Neville Moodley is the Lab Director and Operations Manager at Genesis Reproductive Centre. Neville has vast knowledge pertaining to infertility treatment and lab management, and he is passionate about training students and academia. He holds a Master of Health Sciences in Clinical Technology, a Bachelor of Medical Science (Anatomy & Physiology), a BTech in Clinical Technology (cum laude) (Reproductive Biology), and a National Diploma in Clinical Technology (Reproductive Biology). He also recently completed his MBA titled “An investigation of business model innovation for the sustainability of fertility clinics in South Africa”.

Neville is passionate about patient centricity and incorporating advanced assisted reproductive techniques for better patient outcomes. On a personal level, Neville is married with two beautiful children and has a passion for Indian classical music.

Miss Bianca du Toit

Embryologist

  Bianca completed her BHSc in Clinical Technology with Tshwane University of Technology in 2022 with cum laude and specialised in Reproductive Biology. She was awarded the Best Overall Academic Achievement award for the degree and continues her passion for academia. Bianca is an appointed tutor for the Clinical Technology programme’s second-year students in subjects such as pharmacology and pathophysiology. Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s in Health Science with TUT and will be conducting her research at the Genesis Reproductive Centre. This research will evaluate the efficacy of F-body analysis for sperm sex selection. Bianca is detail-orientated, passionate about patient care, values family, and is always up for a laugh.  

Sr Grace Leeuw

Grace Leeuw has been in the nursing field for 21 years. She began her studies at Thuto Bophelo in 2002 for nursing auxiliary and started her career at Kloof Mediclinic in 2003.

In 2008, she attended Tshwane Learning College for her second year as an Enrolled Nurse. She continued her education and obtained a Diploma in Nursing from Tshwane Learning College in 2013.

In 2015, Grace was given the opportunity to serve as the second in charge of the unit.
